Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Vladimir Filat on 2 November participated in a roundtable, Moldova and New Government, organised by the Konrad Adenauer organisation, the government's press service has said. A representative of the Konrad Adenauer organisation from Berlin, Norbert Beckmann-Dierkes, German Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Nikolaus Graf Lambsdorff and a GermanMP, Manfred Grund, participated in the discussions focused on Moldova's European integration prospects. Vladimir Filat informed the participants in the event about the progress made by Moldova during the five weeks since the new government has been sworn in. "I think that we have passed two important exams for Moldova: the launch of negotiations on a new agreement on association between Moldova and the European Union and the talks with the International Monetary Fund which were completed last week," Vladimir Filat said. The prime minister said that Moldova is a European state, and the Moldovan citizens are European citizens. "It remains to implement the European values and freedoms by joint efforts. In this respect, we thank the international partners for the support given to Moldova on its path towards the European standards," Vladimir Filat said. The prime minister assured that the government will manage with responsibility all the support and assistance given to Moldova. Manfred Grund congratulated Vladimir Filat on his appointment as Moldova's prime minister and wished him much success in this office. "Ffew governments took over the leadership in European states in such crisis conditions as those Moldova is facing now. I am sure that Moldova will become a European Union member, but much work and patience is necessary for this," Manfred Grund specified. On 2 November, the Konrad Adenauer foundation officially inaugurated its office in Chisinau.
