Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Vlad Filat had a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Yalta on Friday, 20 November, where the two officials participated in the summit of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, the government's press service has said. Vladimir Putin said that relations between Russia and Moldova have developed rather actively over the last years. The Russian prime minister particularly praised the positive dynamics of the two countries economic relations. "I am very pleased to discuss with you the bilateral relations between Russia and Moldova," Vladimir Putin said. Vlad Filat noted that Moldova counts on pragmatism in bilateral relations, emphasizing that Moldova will meet the commitments that it has assumed and that it will assume in the future. The officials considered the possibility for Russia to give Moldova a loan. In the context, Vlad Filat informed Vladimir Putin that Moldova completed negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and may resume talks on the loan that Russia was planning to offer. Filat expressed hope that these talks will end successfully. The sides approached other issues as well, including the Transnistrian conflict.
