Moldovan prime minister consults civil society on government's action programme

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ -  The civil society wants the new government's action programme to envisage, in particular, changes for economic development, in the financial and banking system, reforms in the food safety sector, e-Governance, defence and national security, re-organisation of the pension system, amending the Labour Code, enforcement of the 2024 Environment Strategy, justice reform, as well as carrying out reforms at the Interior Ministry, the government's communication and media relations department has reported. 

These, as well as other proposals were launched by members of the National Council for Participation, (CNP) NGOs Council, representatives of the Institute of Public Policies, Anti-corruption Alliance, National Youth Council of Moldova, National Business Agency, East-European Foundation, etc. at a today's meeting with acting Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. The suggestions are collected to develop a new action programme of the government. 

Leanca thanked the civil society, stressing that these proposal would improve the government. "After more consultations on these days, I have noticed that emphasis was put on similar issues, such as the need to revise the Labour Code, pension system, legislation in the social protection sector. It is important that everybody wants to move forward. We should continue the good things were they occurred, while radical changes are necessary in other areas," the prime minister said.

Iurie Leanca gave assurances that the government would be receptive to the received suggestions, including on the platform http://particip.gov.md/. He spoke out for boosting the cooperation with the civil society. 

Also today, the acting prime minister had consultations with representatives of the National Trade Unions Confederation, National Employers Confederation and is to meet political parties' representatives on 2 February.
