President visits lyceum in central Moldova

Chisinau, 1 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti today attended a ceremony dedicated to the beginning of the school year at the Alecu Russo lyceum in the village of Cojusna, central Straseni district, the presidency's press service has reported.
The president spoke to pupils and teachers about the importance of continuing the education reform and urged the young generation to study hard.
The president donated 120 books to the education unit.
"This modest donation will be followed by others, on which we have agreed with the Romanian authorities for school libraries of Moldova," Nicolae Timofti said.
