Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- Representatives of the Civic Forum today submitted a new set of conditions to be met within 30 days. According to protesters, the conditions are meant to steer Moldova out of the social and political crisis.

Therefore, the resolution submitted by the Civic Forum asks for snap parliamentary elections, amendment of the Constitution on the election of the president by the people, releasing state institutions from captivity and amendment of the legislation in the banking sector.

“If these demands are not met, harsh protests shall follow. Taking into account the maximum pressure within the society, state authorities should bear all the consequences. We require authorities to create a dialogue group to hold talks while our requirements are fulfilled,” the moderator of the Civic Forum, Arcadie Barbarosie said.

Representatives of the civil society said protests and pressure on the current government would continue over these 30 days. “People will protest and ask for their demands to be included on the parliament’s agenda during its first meeting,” the member of Justice and Dignity platform, Vasile Nastase, said.

The Civic Forum was held on 29 January. Attending the forum were opposition parties, representatives of the protest movement and NGOs, as well as opinion-makers.
