Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/-Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan and Tiraspol’s political representative, Vitali Ignatiev, signed a protocol on the agenda of actions aimed to ensure the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. A statement to this effect was made by the special representative of Germany’s chairmanship of OSCE, Ambassador Cord Meier-Klodt.

The agreement was signed following the five-plus-two negotiations, currently taking place in Berlin, Germany. “The meeting was productive. We have discussed current issues of major interest to population on both banks of Dniester River. We are waiting for more positive results in the near future,” the ambassador said.

According to Balan, a joint agenda of actions was carried out during the talks. “We are going to unveil its results during the conference due in Bavaria, in mid-July. We hope the goals we have set will have a positive impact and solve the problems of residents on both banks of Dniester,” the deputy prime minister for reintegration said.

“The protocol provides for obligations to be assumed by both sides, matters related to criminal proceedings initiated against officials on both banks, improvement of the guarantee mechanism, international movement of vehicles with Transnistrian number plates, use of education diplomas issued by Tiraspol, on the territory of other countries, as well as economic issues,” Ignatiev said.

Five-plus-two negotiations are represented by Chisinau, Tiraspol, Russia, Ukraine and OSCE, as well as by the USA and EU, as observers.
