Moldovan cabinet approves programme on residents' vaccination

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved the National Programme of Immunizations for 2016-2020, which includes priority commitments of the state in ensuring the process of children’s vaccination against the diseases which can be prevented, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.  

The programme’s goal is to provide the residents with mandatory immunizations, guaranteed by state, as well as through immunizations in epidemic situations, in cases of high risk. At the same time, the actions stipulated aim at covering with vaccines at least 95 per cent of the concerned residents.  

The overall budget of the programme is estimated at more than 293 million lei, with the money earmarked from the state budget, the one of the National Health Insurances House and budgets of the local public administrations. At the same time, about 14 million lei is to be provided by the World Health Organisation and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund.

Also at the today’s meeting, the government approved the national programme on prevention and control of HIV/AIDS infection for 2016-2020. The document is meant to ensure the minimizing of the consequences of the HIV epidemic and the death rate related to this disease, as well as to reduce the spread of the sexually transmissible infections among residents.     

The programme sees carrying out actions to prevent the infection, ensuring universal access to treatment, as well as fulfilling measures of care and support provided to people infected with HIV. The costs for the programme’s implementation are estimated at over one billion lei, due to be covered from the state budget and foreign donations.
