Chisinau, 3 August /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today informed about the unlocking of the first installment of a loan worth 150 million euros, provided to Moldova by the Romanian government. The PM noted that this decision was one more step Moldova managed to make to regain the external reliability and a concrete starting of the foreign financing’s de-blocking, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

At the same time, the prime minister offered thanks to the Romanian nation and personally to Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos for this important support provided to Moldova. PM Filip said that, by this decision, the government and Moldova received one more signal confirming that the road on which Moldova goes is correct and now it depends only on the Moldovans to continue it through other reform measures, due to get the country closer to the European space.

“This is the first financing from abroad since we have assumed responsibility for governance in Moldova. This means that that the foreign financings have been unlocked and we are happy to highlight it. The development partners do not give this money just for the sake of it, but provide this money after we prove that it will be used fairly and efficiently,” Pavel Filip said.

The PM specified that the 60 million euros was to reach Chisinau on 24 August. They money is to be used for social investments and budgetary support for the reforms underway. “Now, when we started more reforms, we need a solid budget, so that we observe the budgetary deficit approved,” Pavel Filip added.
