Military parade organised in Chisinau

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/-  A military parade was organized in the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) in Chisinau today, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of independence.

For the first time ever, attending the parade were servicemen from Romania, the UK, Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland.

Attending the event were Moldovan leadership, diplomats, defence ministers and representatives of armies from Poland, Romania, Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, Turkey, Hungary, France, Lithuania, as well as thousands of citizens from all over the country.

Over 2,000 servicemen participated in the military parade in 2016, and 36 units of military equipment of the National Army were passing in PMAN. They were followed by 22 special vehicles of intervention of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service of the Internal Ministry and cars of the State Protection and Guard Service.

The military parade dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Moldova’s independence ended with performance of mixed orchestra, made up of five military orchestras: Presidential Orchestra of Moldova, Orchestra of "Moldova" Motorized Infantry Brigade-1 from Balti, Orchestra of "Stefan cel Mare" motorized infantry brigade -2 from Chisinau, Orchestra of "Dacia" motorized infantry brigade-3 from Cahul, Orchestra model of the Carabineer Troops Department of the Interior Minister, as well as the Border Police Fanfare.

The last military parade took place in Chisinau in 2011.
