Chisinau hosts Ethno Jazz Festival, 15th issue

Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/- The Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonics hosted the official opening of Ethno Jazz Festival, the 15th issues, on 15 September evening. The event will last be held in Chisinau, Taraclia and Tiraspol till 18 September.

In the beginning of the official opening, Trigon band leader, festival director Anatol Stefanet said that the festival's goal was to promote universal culture via the concerned genre of music. At the same time, he noted that the festival came up with an appeal to tolerance and openness, proving modern creativity of an impressive number of celebrities from different countries, including Moldova.

Attending the event were Culture Minister Monica Babuc, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit, people of culture and art.

In her speech, Babuc underlined that the ministry in charge had supported the festival from the very beginning. “I remarked here Valy Boghean, Valeriu Cascaval, Viorel Burlacu, etc. I wish the festival long life and have many spectators,” she said.

For his part, James Pettit said that Ethno Jazz festival was one of the most important cultural events from Moldova. “Our embassy backs this festival, which brought together famous musicians from all over the world. I am sure that together we can create something amazing,” the diplomat said.

Bands and musicians from 14 countries: Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cuba, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Mongolia, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, United States and Moldova, participate in the current issue of the festival.

The event will end on 18 September with a concert performed by the following bands: „Trigon”, „Arcus”, „Kaiser Band” (Moldova, Romania) and Maurizio Geri Swingtet (Italy).
