Main arteries unblocked, public transport restarts in Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ – All the main streets in Chisinau on which public transport circulates are unblocked. Similarly, three trolley-bus and five bus routes fuction, but they circulate to a shorter time-table.

According to the Chisinau City Hall’s press service, in Chisinau circulate trolley-buses routes №№ 22, 24, 5 and buses on routes №№ 5, 23, 26, 19 and 122.

Over 270 blocks were re-connected to the central heating network by 17.00. According to the decision of the Municipal Commission for Exceptional Situations, the intervention activities will continue on a non-stop basis, including on the Memorial Easter, on Sunday and Monday.

Interviewed by agency, the press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service, Diana Turcanu, said that the firefighters from the south and the centre of Moldova, especially Cahul, Rezina, Orhei and Chisinau continued the work of winding up the consequences of snowfalls. "It involves snowing cars, evacuating persons in risky areas and clearing roads by taking away the put down trees. The rescuers were also alerted to intervene in assistance for two buses with about one hundred passengers of Odessa-Bucharest and Odessa-Varna routes, which were blocked in snow near the Giurgiulesti customs. Also today, the rescuers trailed three long-vehicle lorries. In case of exceptional circumstances, citizens are asked to call emergency numbers 901 and 902," said Turcanu.  

The Chisinau International Airport also announced to resume its activity. "The boarding started for Moscow, Vienna, Paris, Milan flights. At the same time, the plane from Vienna landed, but also St. Petersburg and Moscow flights, which were previously diverted to Bucharest. The snow-stripping process of the Chisinau Airport runway and platform has continued. The whole technical devices, operating in a non-stop mode," informed the Airport press service.

According to the Customs Service’s press service, the domestic customs points Criuleni 18 and Rezina resumed their activity and operate in a normal mode. At the same time, Ceadir-Lunga 1, Ceadir-Lunga 2 and Cismichioi customs still ceased activity. Cross-border traffic is partly limited to Leuseni and Sculeni Customs.

The activity of the crossing points is also stopped: Soroca-Tekinovka, Saiti-Lesnoe, Cahul-Oancea, Mirnoe-Tabaki, Vulcanesti-Vinogradovca, Tudora-Starokazacie and Giurgiulesti-Reni.
