Almost 75 per cent of individuals pay real estate tax at discount in Moldova

Chisinau, 07 July /MOLDPRES/ – The State Tax Service (SFS) accrued 315.5 million lei to the National Public Budget from the real estate tax paid by individuals. The property owners who fully paid the tax by the end of June benefited from a 15 per cent reduction in the calculated amount. About 75 per cent of the population has already paid this type of tax and benefited from a discount, the SFS’s public relations department has reported.

The income tax collection plan for 2017 is 426.2 million lei. The SFS notifies taxpayers who have not taken advantage of the right to deduct that they are obliged to pay real estate tax and/or land tax in equal parts no later than 15 August and 15 October 2017.

The persons, who will not pay real estate tax in time, will pay a penalty for each day of delay (0.0384 per cent of the amount of the tax on the unpaid real estate), the SFS announces additionally.
