Performance by English writer staged at Chisinau circus

Chisinau, 07 September /MOLDPRES/ – The Circus in Chisinau will host on Sunday, 10 September, show The Dream of a Summer Night by Wiliam Shakespeare. This is the second event of project #Lumineaza Circul (Illuminate the circus, called Teatrul Copiilor #Lumineaza Circul (The theatre of children #Illuminate the circus).  

At a press conference today, the leader of band Gandul Matei, Nicu Tarna, coordinator of project Illuminate the circus, said that if a mature concert took place in May, this time that space would be lit by to children. According to the quoted source, show The Dream of a Summer Night will include not only drama, but also music and dances, as well as acrobatics, all of which are presented by children. Also, Nicu Tarna outlined that with a capacity of 2,000 seats, the big circus arena could have become a multipurpose hall, where various cultural activities might be organized.

The founder of The theatre of children, Alexandru Dicusar, said that children from several high schools in Moldovan capital and suburbs would play in the show.

Attending the event, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Andrei Chistol, said that Circus in Chisinau was an objective that has been part of the cultural heritage of Moldova and that multifaceted space could offer many opportunities for children.

The first event of Illuminate the circus project took place on 05 May, when the anniversary concert of local rock band Gandul Matei was held on big circus arena, which was seasoned with a circus show. Then the band decided to celebrate their 20th anniversary with an exceptional concert on one of the biggest stages of Chisinau, with the involvement of several actors and artists.
