Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition titled, The Civilization Mile at Orheiul Vechi. 70 years of archaeological research, was inaugurated at the National History Museum of Moldova today. The event took place within the framework of the European Heritage Days, which takes place in Moldova until 28 September.

Interviewed by the agency, Ana Boldureanu, head of the department at the host institution, mentioned that the exhibition brought together hundreds of objects – clay pots, luxury ceramic pots, weapons, aqueduct pipes, agricultural and household tools, harnesses, coins, objects of worship, etc. – which belonged to the different civilizations that went to Orheiul Vechi. According to the cited source, much of the vestiges presented at the exhibition were restored by the specialists of the National History Museum of Moldova.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Gheorghe Postica, emphasized that this was the most beautiful and richest exhibition dedicated to Old Orhei. "Many tracks are presented for the first time. The exhibition is a good opportunity to mark an important event – 70th anniversary of the beginning of the archaeological investigations in the micro-zone Orhei Vechi. On 22 September, at Butuceni, a symposium will begin its work on this occasion," said Gheorghe Postica.

The exhibition will be open until 31 January 2018.
