Over 230 million lei earmarked for recalculation of pensions in Moldova in 2018

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - Over 230 million lei has been earmarked for the recalculation of pensions for age limit and the disability pensions in 2018.
On 1 October 2018, within the last stage of the recalculation process, the pensions set on the period 1 January 2014 – 31 March 2017 will be increased. As a result, about 95,000 people will receive higher pensions, with more than 90 million lei allocated.
On 1 April 2018, another phase of pensions’ recalculation was held, as a result of which the pensions established on the period 2012-2013 for 54,000 people were increased. As much as 141 million lei was needed for this.
The first two stages of recalculation took place in 2017 and 148 million lei was earmarked for their implementation; 151,000 pensions set on the period 2001-2011 were increased.
The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry told the newspaper Moldova Democrata (Democratic Moldova) that the beneficiaries who had established their pension till 1 January 1999 and subsequently continued to work would benefit from recalculation in 2019 and 2020, depending on the length of service got after the pension had been established.
