Moldovan premier praises performances of winner of extreme marathon

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met the head of the sports public organization Sporter, Dmitri Volosin, who is winner of an extreme marathon, held in Yakutia, Russia, on 14 January 2019, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

As a token of gratitude for the performances of the sportsman, the PM handed him the government’s honorary diploma, stressing that his participation in diverse competitions brings a surplus value to Moldova’s image on the international stage. At the same time, Pavel Filip appreciated Dmitri Volosin’s involvement in charity actions and the organization of the last marathon, in order to raise funds for the rehabilitation of a girl. “In this case, any assistance is important. Therefore, we will also join the offering of the needed support,” the PM added.

Besides the sports sector, Dmitri Volosin asserted himself also in the field of information technologies. He is founder of an IT company, which is among the residents of the Moldova IT park. In the context, the PM showed interest in the conditions of work in the park, noting that the government would continue making efforts to enhance the attractiveness of the IT market in Moldova.    

Dmitri Volosin appreciated the improvement of the legislation in the IT sector, stressing that numerous opportunities can be turned to account within the park. At present, the company tests the electronic agenda for pupils and starting from 1 September 2019, this agenda could be implemented in all education institutions.  
 
Dmitri Volosin ran a 50-km-long charity race at an air temperature of -60 Celsius degrees, thus becoming the first sportsman managing to have such a performance. In the near future, Volosin plans to organize an international marathon, due to bring together hundreds of people fond of extreme sport.
