Physics, biology, chemistry laboratories from more than 180 schools of Moldova to be modernized

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 183 education institutions of Moldova will be endowed with modern equipment for physics, biology and chemistry laboratories in the next two years. The overall value of the project, which has been already launched, is 4.8 million dollars.   

The general state secretary at the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Igor Sarov, today participated in a working meeting with mayors, heads of education departments and directors of education institutions due to be the first beneficiaries of the project. The official asked the district finance and education departments to actively get involved in the organization and holding of public tenders, in order to avoid the procrastination of the procurement process.    

Igor Sarov noted that, in 2019, nine district renovated schools would benefit from equipment, furniture and equipments for the endowment of laboratories.    

According to the Education Ministry, for this year, 3.1 million lei will be earmarked from the state budget for the equipment of the laboratories of physics, chemistry and biology from six district schools. At the same time, 14.1 million lei will be meant for buying school equipment and furniture, as well as for endowing laboratories from another three schools.
