Moldovan SP attends inauguration ceremony of Bashkan of Gagauzia

Chisinau, 20 July /MOLDPRES/ – Speaker of Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii, headed by a parliamentary delegation, participated on Friday, 19 July, at inauguration ceremony of Bashkan of Administrative Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, reelected for IInd term, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

In her speech, the SP congratulated the inhabitants of autonomy on occasion of reelection of Irina Vlah as Bashkan. According to Zinaida Greceanii, under the leadership of Bashkan, autonomy has been in continuous development.

"Irina Vlah and her team have shown that it is possible to develop the region not on account of money stolen from people but through hard and dedicated work by attracting investment both from the East and the West through the systematic development of relations of Gagauzia with external partners. And if this has been done in Gagauzia, I am sure it can and should be done in other regions of Moldova," said SP.

According to the speaker, Irina Vlah is a new generation leader and the results of her work in Gagauzia are an excellent example for the whole Moldova.

The elections in ATU Gagauzia took place on 30 June 2019, and Irina Vlah was elected with the vote of 91.27 per cent of voters which came to ballot for the second mandate of Bashkan.
