3 million 285 thousand 894 voters registered by electoral body in State Register of Voters

Chisinau, 23 August /MOLDPRES/- The total number of voters in the State Register of Voters is 3 million 285 thousand 894. The announcement was made by the Central Election Commission stating that only 2 million 818 thousand 228 citizens entitled to vote are assigned to administrative-territorial units of level II.

According to CEC data, the difference between the total number of citizens registered in the register and those with the right to vote includes people who have Moldovan citizenship, but have no registration at home or residence, including those who emigrated abroad (224 thousand250 persons) and citizens with voting rights having their registered address in the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of the Dniester (243 thousand 416).

Most voters with the right to vote in the local elections in autumn are in Chisinau (636 thousand 551) and Bălţi (104 thousand 470), and the fewest in Basarabeasca (24 183). 36 electoral constituencies of level II will be set up for the local elections.

898 mayors and 11,580 local councilors will be elected at the 20 October local elections, of which 1,810 district / municipal councilors and 10 472 village and town councilors. On the same day, the residents of the districts No17, 33, 48 and 50 will be expected at polls.
