Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/ - The government will provide a new consignment of material assistance to the Ocnita and Glodeni district councils, in order to liquidate the consequences of the natural calamities from the spring and summer of this year. Assets worth over 540,000 lei will be released from the state reserve to this end, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The Material Reserves Agency subordinated to the Interior Ministry (MAI) will release roof slates and timber worth about 68,000 lei for the repair of a damaged roof of a building on the Prieteniei Street from the Otaci town, northern Ocnita district. At the same time, another 2,786 roof slates and 443 square metres of metal tile, worth about 473,000 lei, will be provided from the state material reserves for the re-establishment of living houses badly hit by a strong wind from 2 July 2019.

The participants in the meeting also approved the release of material assets from the state reserve and their sale at low prices, publicly and transparently, and the money got by sellers will be used for the completion and renewal of the state reserves with other fresh and qualitative products.

At the same time, at a proposal by the education minister, the participants in the meeting approved a draft decision on the construction of a bust to the great Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu and its setting on the square of the Community Centre from the southern Cahul city. The spending for the working out of the project documentation, carrying out, building the bust and arrangement of the adjacent ground will be covered from donations, sponsorships and other legal sources.

Also today, the cabinet of ministers approved a regulation on the establishment of administrative requirements and procedures of certification for navigability and environment of airships and the related products, pieces and equipments, as well as the certification of organizations for designing and production. The document’s goal is to implement the provisions of the Agreement on Common Aviation Area between Moldova and the European Union. The regulation improves the technical requirements and, through its adoption, Moldova aligns not only with the European standards, but also with the ones of the International Civil Aviation Organization. Additionally, the draft will have a positive impact also on the country’s economic potential, as for the first time ever the needed premises and normative stipulations were created for attracting investors into the field of designing airships or components for airships.

Another important draft regards the approval of the opening of a Consular Office in Barcelona, Spain. Given that there are a large number of Moldovan citizens in this region, the setting up of this office is absolutely necessary. The consular office is meant to meet multiple requests by the Diaspora, as well as to ease the service for the applicants for consular services in Spain. The office will cover including the assistance needed by the Moldovan fellow countrymen from southern France. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu informed that one more consul would work at the Frankfurt-based Consulate. The decision comes after the Moldovan Diaspora has demanded providing the continuous functionality of the mission, especially as the presence of Moldovan citizens is on the rise in this zone and the number of consular actions has doubled in the last three years. The allocation of the second unit of staff will unlock the current work of the General Consulate, which stagnates because of the recalling and dismissal of the former head of the mission.

As for staff matters, the cabinet of ministers appointed Viorelia Lazar as state secretary at the Finance Ministry.
