Six institutions from Moldova to receive grants worth over 500 thousand dollars offered by Japan

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- The Government of Japan has offered grants worth 512 thousand dollars for five educational institutions and one hospital in our country. The money was provided under the Human Security Program "Kusanone" and will be used to rehabilitate institutions and purchase medical equipment. Grant contracts were signed on 17 October in Chisinau.

Thus, theoretical high school Ion Creangă from Hârbovăț village, Anenii Noi district, will benefit from a grant of 89 thousand dollars for the installation of the water treatment system and the repair of the sanitary blocks. The second grant, amounting to about 87 thousand dollars, will reach the kindergarten No 14 from Cahul. The money will be used for the thermal insulation of the exterior walls, the repair of the ventilation system and the purchase of the kitchen equipment. The kindergarten in Tuzara, Calarasi district, obtained a grant worth 67 thousand dollars. The project provides for the repair of the roof, the thermal insulation of the exterior walls and the change of the windows of the institution.

The fourth project is intended for kindergarten No 5 from Comrat city. The value of the investments for the thermal insulation of the exterior walls and other works will be about 90 thousand dollars. Orhei vocational school will use the grant worth about 91,000 dollars for thermal insulation, door and window replacement.

Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Valentina Chicu thanked the Government of Japan for the support granted to the Republic of Moldova through the Kusanone Program. “By investing in education, we invest in the future, the happy child of today will make the world more beautiful tomorrow. The well-being of each child is our priority, ”the official said.

The program Kusanone was launched in our country in 2008. During 11 years of collaboration, the education system in the Republic of Moldova has benefited from 21 projects of this kind, worth about 1.6 million dollars. At the same time, projects in the health sector have been implemented that exceed the total amount of 2.6 million dollars.
