Several abusive actions of Tiraspol reported to Joint Control Commission

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- The Joint Control Commission meeting on 17 October focused on discussing the violations of the Security Zone regime committed by the Transnistrian entities.

According to the Bureau of Reintegration Policy, the Moldovan delegation drew attention to the drill exercises in light infantry armament near Râbniţa, involving militia collaborators from Râbniţa, Camenca and Dubăsari.

It was reported that military exercises were carried out with the use of armament and fighting technique by a Transnistrian military unit located in Dubasari city.

It was mentioned about the technical works carried out by the company Interdnestrcom at the so-called "border guards" located near Dorotcaia, qualified as the development of the "border" infrastructure. In fact, the military component of the Republic of Moldova called for the deployment of military observers on the spot, the request not being accepted.

Consequently, because the violations were not reflected in the weekly reports on the situation in the Security Zone, these documents of the Joint Military Command were not approved by the JCC.

It was proposed to be included in the agenda the proposal made previously by the Russian delegation - to verify and analyze as a whole the situation created in the Security Zone following the unilateral changes made by the Transnistrian side. The representative of the Russian Federation reiterated that the proposal is a compromise and aims to discuss issues that cause tension between the parties. He also said that the request does not only concern the post installed in Pohrebea (contrary to the provisions of the protocol of the extraordinary meeting of the Commission), but refers to all the posts of the structures of border guards installed abusively.

The proposal was not supported by the Transnistrian delegation either.

Also, following public distortions in the Transnistrian media, a member of the Transnistrian delegation was alerted to the need to adopt appropriate behavior and to disseminate objective messages in the media. In particular, it was requested not to mislead public opinion through distorted assessments and approaches of topics that were not actually discussed during the meetings.

During the meeting, the report of the Joint Military Command was approved for September 25, 2019 - October 1, 2019, and two military observers from Ukraine were confirmed.
