Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- The PSRM faction had a meeting today with Prime Minister Maia Sandu and discussed the political situation in the country. The socialists said they had asked the premier to withdraw the draft laying down new rules for the election of the prosecutor general over which the government assumed responsibility. They asked that the document be further examined in parliament.

Socialist MP Vasile Bolea criticized the actions of the government and premier in recent days, describing as "flagrant violation of the political agreement concluded between PSRM and ACUM bloc".

"What happened on 6 November was actually a change in the rules of the game. It was done as Vlad Filat did before, ”Bolea said.

“We want to keep the ruling coalition and we can come with input and expertise in the reform of justice. Thus, the only way out of the situation is to withdraw the draft on the government's responsibility and to examine it in the parliament ”, concluded Bolea.

He said that until 15.00 when the legislative session will begin, the PSRM faction will also have meetings with MPs from both factions of ACUM bloc.

The dissensions on the political scene in Chisinau appeared after Justice Minister Olesea Stamate canceled the results of the contest for the position of Prosecutor General early this week.  On the same day, the government approved by the procedure of assuming responsibility new rules for selecting the Prosecutor General.
