Gagauz Wine Festival Festival 2019 organized in Comrat

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ – The best wine producers and winemakers of Gagauzia were honoured on Sunday, 10 November, at the Gagauz Wine Festival (Gagauz Serap Yortusu – 2019) organised by local authorities. The regional representatives, as well as guests from Moldova and other states, took part in the InvestGagauzia Forum – 2019, on 08 – 09 November.

When organising of the Wine Festival, issue 2019, there were involved all localities of the region. Each of them had original presentations that demonstrate local specificity, traditions and customs.

“Each village and city is distinguished by something, and during this event people have the opportunity to show what they have and what they can do better. However, even though this year was more complicated, however, the Gagauzian producers have shown that they are true, knowledgeable and hospitable”, said governor of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah.

Attending the event, the President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, urged all citizens and guests of Moldova to give preference to local products because "our goods are the best".

The agenda of the day, which started with a master class of grapevine grafting, attended by the head of state, has included several economic, cultural – artistic actions, which represent the Gagauz people best. For the locals and guests there were prepared exhibitions held by folk craftsmen, chefs, winemakers, concerts and dances, sports competitions, yarns, tastings, etc.

At the same time, the authorities from Comrat also organised a programme aimed at promoting the values ​​and culture of the region, including the traditional methods of growing vines and producing wine.
