Stefan cel Mare boulevard from Moldovan capital to be subjected to expertise

Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/ – The Stefan cel Mare boulevard from the capital will be subjected to an expertise, in order to establish the reasons of the defects arising from its repair work. The announcement was made, on Monday, 11 November, by the head of public transport and communications directorate, Adrian Boldurescu, at the weekly meeting of the City hall services.

"In the evening of today begins the second phase of expertise of the boulevard Stefan cel Mare. This means that physically it will be extracted samples, it will be cut cassettes with dimensions of 1 m by 1.6 m. The samples will be extracted to a depth of 1.5 m to have, a clarity for all those connected with boulevard Stefan cel Mare. This is the first time that this is being done. They are complex works. We have planned that the asphalt will be already laid in the morning on the portions from which it will be extracted samples, so that the traffic is not affected. This expertise will allow us to take measures with the defects that are and to be able to use those money that were withheld for the bank guarantee”, said Adrian Boldurescu.

The samples will be taken from 14 spots, which have been selected by experts. The head of Transport Department (DT) stated that the expertise was requested in 2017 even by the company that carried out the repair works of the central boulevard in the capital.

The repair of boulevard Stefan cel Mare started in 2015 and ended in autumn 2017. The works were carried out within the framework of a project financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and European Investment Bank (EIB).
