Moldovan electoral body establishes estimated spending for organizing next presidential elections

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - As much as 167, 356,200 lei will be needed for the organization and holding of the presidential elections in Moldova. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC), which approved its budget for 2020, unveiled estimative data today.

Under the CEC’s decision, 15, 889,600 lei is estimated for the new parliamentary polls and 7, 273,600 lei – for the organization of the new local elections.

The CEC approved its 2020 budget amounting to 337, 146,700 lei. Thus, 143, 389,100 lei is planned for the work of the Commission, of which 38, 172,700 lei - for the financing of the political parties. Another 2,357,700 lei is meant for the activity of the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training under CEC.

The CEC’s budget will be submitted to the parliament and government to be included in the draft state budget.
