Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The former prime minister, Vlad Filat, has been released from prison. The press service of the National Administration of Penitentiaries confirmed the information.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the lawyer of Vlad Filat, Victor Munteanu, refused to provide details on the subject, noting that Filat would personally communicate with the media.

The Chisinau Court on 27 June 2016 sentenced the former PM, Vlad Filat, to nine years of imprisonment for influence peddling and passive corruption, following a denunciation by Ilan Shor.
