Mechanism for monitoring price developments to be implemented in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/- A mechanism will be implemented in Moldova for monitoring evolution of prices, especially social products. The initiative belongs to President Igor Dodon and was announced at a today’s working meeting with Speaker Zinaida Greceanii and Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

According to Dodon, there was previously such a monitoring mechanism. "I came up with a new initiative: monitoring the evolution of prices. We have a good experience in this regard, in the government led by Greceanii, and we discussed to return to that practice, where weekly a detailed analysis of prices was made on all types of products, especially on social ones ”, he said.

Also, the president asked the government to work out state programs on rural water supply, street lighting, waste management and gasification.

For his part, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that the initiatives set out by the head of state will be carried out in the first half of this year, as there is an economic analysis for most of them. He added that the initiatives will be discussed with mayors by the end of January.
