New Municipal Clinical Hospital to be constructed in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu went to the northern Balti city today. The first institution visited was the Municipal Clinical Hospital, where he had a meeting with the entire medical staff, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The institution’s director informed the PM about the fact that the team of physicians was highly qualified; yet, a half of them are at the retirement age.

In 2019, the emergency service of the Hospital received more than 64,000 appeals and treated over 36,600 patients. The Hospital’s team serves the residents of the districts in the neighbourhood of Balti.   

The specialists referred to the need to buy modern medical equipment, in order to provide services at a higher level of quality and safety. At the same time, the institution’s staff emphasized the necessity to carry out a capital repair of the hospital, postponed for over 30 years.   

The prime minister tanked the physicians for their work, dedication and attitude proved daily. He informed the hospital’s staff about the evolution of the national economy and the real possibilities coming from the economy’s potential.  

The sides discussed arguments for the construction of a new hospital versus the repair and equipment of the present one – an option backed by the physicians’ team.

The PM touched upon ways of attracting young people into medical institutions, pointing out the allowances offered to young specialists, improvement of the First Home programme and the extension plan for the purchasing of the first vehicle. The sides discussed also the subject on the growing of the salaries for physicians and the cabinet’s intention to increase them, in stages, by ten per cent.
