Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/- Hospitals in Balti and Comrat will operate during treatment of COVID-19 cases. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu made the statement today.

Today it was decided to activate two regional medical institutions to avoid transporting the patients and to reduce the burden placed on hospitals in the capital.

The official noted that yesterday the medical staff from the two institutions received the necessary equipment and they completed the training in order to treat the cases of COVID-19. Family doctors also benefited from training according to WHO protocols.

Dumbrăveanu said that 1,164 tests have been applied so far in the ANSP Laboratory, and 149 have proved positive. Of them, 49 are of import and 100 with local transmission. In the last period there has been an intensification of the local transmission, for this reason I reiterate the urge for the population to stay at home, and the elderly should not leave their home without strict necessity ”, she said.

On 17 March - 15 May, state of emergency is declared throughout Moldova. During the period, the National Commission for Emergencies has issued several restrictive measures for citizens and involved police and servicemen to monitor their compliance. Citizens and economic agents who do not obey the decisions of the commission will be sanctioned.
