Moldovan deputy premier discusses with Ukrainian counterpart

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration  Cristina Lesnic today had a discussion, in videoconference format, with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov. The sides exchanged information on the present situation and the dynamic of the dialogue in the process of negotiations, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on them, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

The sides also exchanged opinions on the institutional reform, protection of human rights and other relevant aspects.   

The Moldovan official congratulated her Ukrainian counterpart on the Constitution Day of Ukraine and his recent appointment as co-chairman of the Moldovan-Ukrainian inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation. Cristina Lesnic voiced hope that this mandate would allow optimizing the bilateral dialogue on other dimensions as well. 

Lesnic thanked for the efficient cooperation in the repatriation of Moldovans in the last months, as well for support on the platforms of the international structure. In the context, the Moldovan side welcomed the Ukrainian side’s contribution in the 5+2 format. 

Oleksii Reznikov proposed the resumption of the trilateral cooperation Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, - a platform earlier set up.   

The sides agreed on developing and strengthening the partnership and cooperation relations, through the organization of mutual visits in the near future.

The officials showed openness and interest in an active and mutually advantageous dialogue.
