Chisinau, 15 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today inspected the regional road G-92, Balauresti-Marinici-Siscani-M1. The road was capitally repaired on an area of 13 km and a system of water’s evacuation was built, sidewalks and entrances in yards were arranged on all the length of the highway.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, about 63 million lei was spent from the Road Fund for the road’s reconstruction works. The local administration intervened with a demand to asphalt another nine km, which connects those three settlements to the Chisinau-Leuseni highway.

The state secretary at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Anatol Usatii, said that the technical project was to be carried out for this segment and would be included in the Good Roads programme next year. In general, all the designing was finished for the settlements of the central Nisporeni district, included in the national project on modernization of roads’ infrastructure, except for the Ciutesti village.

The prime minister subsequently inspected the renovated road Obileni-Nemteni from the central Hancesti district. A segment of 1.2 km of road was restored here, for which 4.6 million lei was additionally allocated from the Road Fund.

„I am happy to see that emphasis on quality was put where the works of roads’ reconstruction were finished and people can enjoy good road in their settlements. Only in such a way, by modernizing the infrastructure, we can manage to attract foreign investments in Moldova and encourage our citizens to remain at home,’’ the PM stressed.

An example in this respect is an Italian investor, Saverio Sebastenieli, who opened a factory for producing footwear in the settlement Obileni, central Hancesti district. The businessman launched the business in 2015, providing 360 jobs to people from the settlement. Encouraged by the road’s modernization and starting of the project on the settlement’s supply with water, the Italian investor is set to soon extend his business and double the number of jobs.
