Korean experts hold courses to train Moldovan teachers in IT, communication sector

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) and the Special Governmental Office for Education of the Jeju Province from South Korea on 22-24 February organized online training courses in the information technologies and communications (ITC) sector for 58 teachers from Moldova, who teach disciplines in the STEM field.

The Korean instructors and specialists will present to teachers from Moldova modern techniques of teaching in the ITC sector, as well as useful information on the ITC’s role in the online education; aspects of the online education; preparing online courses; GSuite for Education; Microbit, artificial intelligence, BigData, etc., according to MECC.     

The training sources are organized based on a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the information technologies and communications field, signed by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry and the Special Governmental Office for Education of the Jeju Province from South Korea on 28 March 2018. The agreement also sees the donation, in three annual installments, of 450 computers for the endowment of general education institutions from Moldova.   

As many as 215 teachers who teach informatics, of whom 100 had occasion to visit South Korea, benefited from training courses during 2015-2020. Also, South Korea donated 600 computers, 80 Hamster-type robots, 80 MicroBit devices and 10 drones to education institutions from Moldova.
