Acting PM meets interior minister

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi had a meeting with Interior Minister Pavel Voicu this morning. The discussion was focused on kidnapping in Moldova of Ukrainian citizen Nicolae Ceaus, an act committed on 3 April, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Pavel Voicu informed the official about the measures taken by the legal institutions from the moment of receiving the call to the Single Service 112. He pointed out that immediately after obtaining the information about kidnapping, all specialized institutions of the ministry intervened. At the same time, a criminal case was started by prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases.

As a result of the special investigative measures, law enforcers gathered evidence, found three cars, which were used in kidnapping established the route of the offenders and circle of people involved. One person was detained.

The police and prosecutors have established a circle of people, having the citizenship of another state, who entered our country since 23 March including the day of kidnapping. The information about the people is thoroughly checked in different ways. State institutions have got several relevant evidence in the case, including video recordings, documents and fingerprints. At the same time, Pavel Voicu highlighted he relies a lot on a good collaboration with law enforcers in Ukraine.

It was agreed on the need to keep the interim Prime Minister permanently informed of the progress of the investigation in this case.
