Moldovan authorities buy 20 stations for producing oxygen

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - Twenty stations for producing medical oxygen will be set at republican, municipal and district medical and sanitary public institutions. The apparatus were bought through the World Bank’s project, Emergency Response to COVID-19 in Moldova.    

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), the district hospitals from Cahul, Causeni, Edinet, Soroca, Orhei, Ungheni, Floresti, Comrat, Hancesti, Criuleni, Anenii Noi, the Valentin Ignatenco Municipal Clinical Hospital for Children, Municipal Hospital No 1, the Hospital of the State Chancellery will benefit from oxygen stations with a capacity of 16.8 cubic metres/hour.  

At the same time, „Sfânta Treime” (Holy Trinity) Municipal Clinical Hospital, Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, the Clinical Hospital from Balti, the Emergency Medicine Institute, St. Archangel Michael Municipal Clinical Hospital, the Institute of Mother and Child will receive stations with a capacity of 54.5 metres/hour.   

Three oxygen stations have been already set at the Hancesti, Criuleni district hospitals and the Hospital of the State Chancellery.

According to MSMPS, to provide the medical institutions with medical devices for oxygen therapy, 92 ventilators and 400 oxygen concentrators have been purchased so far within the World Bank’s project, Emergency Response to COVID-19 in Moldova. Another 200 ventilators are to be bought on the next period.
