Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - Two years since the starting of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine are marked on 24 February, the presidential press service has reported.

In the context, President Maia Sandu came up with a message:

„Two years since the beginning of Russia’s war in Ukraine are marked today; two years when hospitals, kindergartens, shops, apartment buildings, churches have been daily bombarded in the neighbour country. Today, we mark two years of terror, but we also mark two years of resistance.’’

The head of state stressed that, during two years, Ukraine had stayed upright and worthy and through the heroism of the Ukrainians – military and civilians – it defends the freedom of the entire European continent and the peace in Moldova. The Moldovans are grateful to the Ukrainians for their extraordinary courage.

„During these two years, Moldova understood from the daily life the importance of peace and freedom. Moldova showed to itself and the whole world that it chooses the life and will always give a helping hand to those who are in need. The Moldovans want to live in good understanding and we do our utmost for our country to be in peace,’’ Maia Sandu said.
