Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 850 infrastructure projects have been finished or are under finalization in the last two years and another 500 initiatives to this end are to be implemented till the end of this year. Thus, till late 2024, we will have 1,350 infrastructure projects finished. Prime Minister Dorin Recean today made statements to this effect. He said the government was edifying in all sectors and this process would continue and would be sped up.

„We talk about the reconstruction of over 400 km of national, regional and local roads, over 230 km of water and sewerage network. We have constructed seven new road bridges and rehabilitated another 20 bridges. We renovated about 200 schools and kindergartens and 28 community centres.  We built almost 300 km of street illumination network and invested more than two billion lei in hospitals’ modernization, ‘’ Dorin Recean said.

The PM noted that the implementation of these projects had been expected by the citizens for more years. ‘’These figures mean tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of concrete people, families, pupils who presently have better living conditions. This means 30,000 households, i.e. over 120,000 people with access to drinking water and sewerage, about 75,000 children who go to renovated schools and kindergartens or who play in parks and modernized sports fields. It is about over 1,200 artistic bands which can promote our traditions and more than 140,000 residents who can enjoy this culture. We speak about almost 200,000 people who presently move on illuminated streets,’’ the official said.

The prime minister specified that the impact of each action of construction meant the improvement of the living standards. ‘’The government’s plan is to provide better conditions for each citizen. We rehabilitated roads in each district. In all sectors, the government edifies and we will speed up this process. In education, 500 million lei was allocated for investments in seven universities and six colleges, 58 kindergartens were renovated, 128 schools and gymnasiums – for the first time, 133 sports halls and fields were built or rehabilitated. In the health sector, we have enjoyed the biggest investments since the Independence so far. In the last two years alone, the investments in the medical institutions from Moldova for the reconstruction and endowment with medical modern equipment, as well as the training of medical staff amounted to about 2.4 billion lei. All 35 district hospitals benefited from new endowments and equipment. The emergencies reception unit of the Chisinau-based Emergency Medicine Institute was capitally repaired and endowed with the most modern equipment,’’ Dorin Recean added.

According to the official, Moldova’s edification is not a process of one or two days; this process lasts and the involvement of each man from the country is needed. ‘’We will manage to edify a Moldova which is to look European from north to south, in the smallest villages and the biggest cities, only if the entire country gives a helping hand,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean also said.
