Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - The report on the actions undertaken on the period of the state of emergency - 22 October 2021 – 30 December 2023, was presented by Prime Minister Dorin Recean in the parliament’s plenum on 14 March. Thus, the PM set forth information on the actions taken by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) in the context of the management of the energy crisis, of the refugees’ crisis, for the protection of the residents, economy and state’s security.

The measures adopted by CSE on the period of the emergency state regarded the prevention, diminution or liquidation of the consequences of the factors which imposed the declaring and the extension of the emergency state.

Starting from 22 October 2021, the parliament adopted 15 decisions on the declaring or prolongation of the emergency state. Thus, till 30 December 2023, the cumulative period on which the state of emergency was established on the territory of Moldova was 800 days. The conditions which imposed the establishment of the emergency state resulted from three major reasons: the regional and national energy crisis, the war in Ukraine, with all its consequences and the direct threats to Moldova’s security.

The parliament has earlier adopted a draft law which stimulated that, upon the expiration of the emergency period, CSE is obliged to present a report on the activities and measures adopted in parliament.
