Moldovan government approved European Village program for 2024-2028

Chisinau, March 26. /MOLDPRES/- Government has approved the European Village program for 2024-2028. The implementation costs are estimated at over 5.3 billion lei, of which over 2.5 billion lei will be provided from the state budget, through the National Regional and Local Development Fund, the government's communication department has reported.

The project sees that by 2028 about 200 thousand inhabitants will have access to the aqueduct network and 37 thousand people will be connected to the sewage network. Also, 250 thousand people from 100 localities are to benefit from an improved public lighting system.

The program aims that, over four years, in at least 250 localities, public buildings will be renovated or rehabilitated, 375 thousand inhabitants will benefit from modern sports halls and fields, and 250 thousand inhabitants - improved infrastructure of cultural buildings. The share of renewable energy in the total energy consumed will increase in at least 65 localities.

400 employees of local public authorities will have strengthened capacities in managing, monitoring and evaluating investment projects.
