Athlete Oleg Crețul wins gold at IBSA Antalya Grand Prix

Chisinau, Apr 3 /MOLDPRES/- National para-judo team took part in the penultimate IBSA Grand Prix ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The Republic of Moldova was represented by three athletes - Ina Cernei (57 kg), Ion Basoc (90+ kg) and Oleg Crețul (90kg), who managed to win the gold medal.

"On his way to the gold medal, the leader of our team defeated athletes from Iraq and Turkey. Ina Cernei and Ion Basoc both placed 5th," says Paralympic Moldova.

Both Oleg Crețul and Ion Basoc have already secured qualification to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games under their performance rating. Both athletes are currently ranked 2nd in the world in their weight categories.

The team's participation in the Grand Prix was made possible thanks to the involvement of the Ministry of Education and Research.
