Doctors to promote healthy lifestyle on Sunday

Chisinau, April 5 /MOLDPRES/ - The State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemitanu" will organize several activities meant to promote an active and healthy lifestyle on 7 April. The events will take place in the context of World Health Day.

The events will be held at the University Sociocultural Complex (Nicolae Testemitanu Street, 25) from 9:00-13:00.

Family doctors and nurses from the University Clinic of Primary Health Care of the USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" will measure blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index. Specialists will provide advice and counselling to the patients on how to combat risk factors and follow a healthy lifestyle, and in case of deviations from the norm, people will be recommended to specialists for consultations.

Doctors will also hold a workshop on giving medical first aid to an unconscious person, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The students will distribute information material on diabetes, cardiovascular diseases.

Representatives of the Faculty of Dentistry - teachers, resident doctors and students - will provide information on oral health hygiene, risk factors and preventive measures for dental diseases, dental caries prophylaxis in children, foods and drinks harmful to teeth.

On the same day, starting at 10:00, the 7th edition of the competition will be held at the University Sports Complex. Twelve teams will take part in the competitions, 7 of them from USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" and 5 - from medical colleges in the country.

In the context of World Health Day, USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" announces the organization of the drawing contest "Doctor - through the eyes of a child", 4th edition.
