Moldova attends for first time international exhibition Vinitaly

Chisinau, April 14 /MOLDPRES/- Wines made in Moldova are presented for the first time at the international exhibition Vinitaly, which opened today in the Italian city of Verona. This is one of the most important wine and spirits fairs, which brings together operators in the wine sector from international markets.

The event is attended by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, MAIA State Secretary Andrian Digolean and Moldovan Ambassador to Italy Anatolie Urecheanu. Our stand was visited by Minister of Agriculture of Italy Francesco Lollobrigida and Italian Ambassador to Chisinau Lorenzo Tomassoni.

The exhibition will be open until 17 April.

The Republic of Moldova is among the top 20 wine-producing countries. The wine industry is one of the key branches of our country's economy. Moldovan wines are imported by more than 70 countries from different corners of the world.

According to statistics, exports of wine produced in the Republic of Moldova increased in 2023 by 18% in volume and 24% in value compared to 2022, which shows stronger international demand and recognition of the quality of wines. Europe remains the largest market for Moldovan wines, with a 36% increase in value.
