Chisinau, May 1 /MOLDPRES/- Today on International Workers' Day President Maia Sandu visited Botanica Emergency Medical Assistance Substation, where she met the medical staff who save lives every day, the presidential press service has reported.

"These people manage to reach those in need of help even when the ambulance can't get through because of irregularly parked cars, and they provide assistance even when faced with a less than respectful attitude from patients or their relatives. They do their job with all their dedication, and we need to know and appreciate their work. And help them when we are around," said the head of state.

The President noted that while most people are resting or spending the holidays with their families, there are also those who work on holidays, who work at night, who are constantly on duty, so that the rest of the citizens can experience these moments of relaxation in peace and safety.

"We bow down to every doctor, nurse, ambulance driver, feller, rescuer, policeman, fireman, military man, emergency call operator, security guard, trolley bus, bus or taxi driver, air traffic controller, pilot, train driver, a baker who bakes at night so that we have fresh bread in the morning, a sanitation worker, an electricity worker, a personal assistant who never has a day off, and in front of all those who work at night and on holidays, including Easter and Christmas", the President said.

The President also said that people often remember the work of doctors when they need it most, and their complicated work is not talked about on TV: "You are the heroes, often unseen, thanks to whom society functions harmoniously. Thank you for being so kind to us!".
