More polling stations for Romanian presidential elections to be opened in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 21 polling stations will be opened in Moldova for the presidential elections due in Romania. The elections will take place on 2 November.

Polling stations will be opened in Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, Cantemir, Cimislia, Calarasi, Drochia, Edinet, Floresti, Falesti, Giurgiulesti, Hincesti, Ialoveni, Leova, Nisporeni, Orhei, Soroca, Ungheni. 

Romanian citizens residing in Romania, who will be in Moldova on the election day, will be able to vote based on an identity card, electronic ID card, temporary ID card, diplomatic passport, business passport, ordinary passport, travel documents.

According to the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, Romanian citizens with residence abroad could vote with the ordinary passport, ordinary electronic passport, ordinary temporary passport and travel documents at the polling stations in Moldova. Citizens will not be able to vote with the citizenship certificate or birth certificate.

Romanian citizens voting at polling stations in Moldova can exercise their right to vote after signing a written declaration on their own responsibility that they have not voted previously and will not vote in that round of elections. The voting process begins at 07:00 on 2 November and ends on the same day at 21:00. A number of 14 candidates participate in the elections.
