Chisinau, 2 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Romanian government today adopted an emergency ordinance, thereby providing free of charge transportation of young people from Moldova, who vote in the runoff of the presidential elections at the polling stations in Romania, the spokesman for the Romanian government, Liviu Iolu, has said.

“This is a measure meant to give Moldovan young people, who study in Romania,   possibility to exercise their right to vote. This is an issue of principle and a signal we want to give – the right to vote is fundamental, a responsibility and a proof of civic involvement,” Iolu said, cited by AGERPRES.

He noted that the beneficiaries of this measure would enjoy free of charge return train tickets on 12-13 November “to and from the settlements with polling stations on the territory of Romania, namely Bucharest, Iasi, Galati, Timisoara, Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Bacau, Suceava and Craiova.”
