Moldovan president opts "for good of country"

Chisinau, 13 November /MOLDPRES/- President Nicolae Timofti accompanied by First Lady Margareta Timofti voted today. He said he had voted "for the good of Moldova".

"I want the future president to manage what we failed to do, so that better changes be made. I want our citizens to be ensured, to have respected rights and be able to think and decide for themselves the fate of the country," he said.

Direct presidential elections take place in Moldova today. Over 333,000 voters or 11.75 per cent were present at the ballot boxes by 10:30.
