Diaspora Days in Moldova represent new opportunities for strengthening dialogue of country – Diaspora

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/ – The Diaspora Bureau, under the auspices of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, launched the fourth issue of Diaspora Days today, where registered over 100 participants in 2017, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

During the first event of the program – Open Days for Diaspora at the Government, representatives of the Executive, Diaspora communities and partner organizations have drawn the perspectives of collaboration in strategic areas for Moldova, emphasizing the importance of capitalizing the experience accumulated abroad by the Moldovan citizens.

The event presented the composition of the Diaspora Excellence Groups and the fields in which they have to work together with the Prime Minister's advisers. However, the Diaspora selected experts will support the implementation of proposed projects in the sectors: research, economy, environment, Diaspora consolidation, justice and medicine.

There were also announced the conclusions of the mapping study of the Moldovan Diaspora in Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Israel, Portugal, Russia and the Republic of Moldova. Also, the participants had the opportunity to address a number of questions to the Government representatives.

The program will continue today with thematic seminars focusing on opportunities to promote the return and sustainable reintegration of migrants, consultations on Moldova's National Development Strategy 2030 and good practices of Diaspora's involvement in the development of the Moldovan native settlements.

In the upcoming days, there will take place the Gustar International Festival, the Diaspora Cup of mini-football and the official opening of the fifth issue of the DOR Program. Similarly, the local public administrations in 14 districts will carry out book and photo exhibitions, informative lessons, concerts, thematic meetings, round tables and instructive workshops for studying the mother tongue for migrant children.
