Moldovan PM meets Romanian envoy

Chisinau, 8 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip met Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Daniel Ionita on 7 September. The officials approached the implementation of joint projects and prospects for strengthening the Moldovan-Romanian relations in areas of mutual interest, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier appreciated the evolution of the bilateral relations and expressed gratitude to the Romanian government for the constant support provided in many development projects and especially, for the support in Moldova’s European integration process. “We have always felt that Romania is with us through its valuable support. We hope you will continue to convince yourself that you helped a team whose reform agenda is aimed at changing things in Moldova and making the pro-European option irreversible”, he said.
In the context, Filip reviewed the government’s priorities for next period and tackled the latest developments in the implementation of public administration reform. Also, he referred to the activities taken by the government to increase the attractiveness of the business environment and fight against corruption. He added that any reform needs to be widely communicated to ensure a correct perception by citizens and increase the confidence of society.
For his part, Ionita congratulated the Moldovan government for the achievements and noted that Moldova remains to be a strategic priority for the Romanian authorities, and the interests of the country are actively promoted by Romanian officials on international stage.
The officials exchanged opinions on the projects implemented with the support of the Romanian side, including the renovation and endowment of kindergartens, implementation of SMURD emergency medical service, renovation of the National Art Museum in Chisinau, as well as the endowment of the schools with means of transport. At the same time, the sides underlined the importance of carrying out energy projects, pointing out the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, as well as the projects related to the interconnection of the electrical networks.
