Democrats leadership asks to organize special parliamentary session

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- The Democratic Party asks to organize a special parliamentary session to vote on the laws previously rejected by President Igor Dodon. Democrat leader Vlad Plahotniuc made the statement today.

Plahotniuc said that the meeting must take place before the ordinary session, because the laws passed to parliament are important for citizens and will be revived.

“Moldovan President unjustifiably refused to promulgate and returned to the parliament several important laws, including the reform of the Academy of Sciences, the law on combating terrorism, law on energy, law on meal vouchers.  Arguments that these documents were rejected are without substance, and the consequences can only be negative. We decided to urgently vote them again, and then send them for the second time to the president for promulgation”, he said.

He also criticized the president’s decision to ban the participation of Moldovan soldiers in international exercises and noted that his party will propose, perhaps even at the special parliamentary session, to amend the legislation so that this process will no longer depend on the Moldovan president.
