New UNICEF representative presents cabinet letters in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, had a meeting with the new representative of the United Nations Children's Fund – UNICEF in Moldova, Desiree Jongsma, on the occasion of the presentation of cabinet letters, today, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and interaction with press service has reported.
Deputy Minister, Lilian Darii, assured the UNICEF representative in Moldova of the full support in fulfilling her mandate.
The Moldovan official expressed his confidence that the UNICEF Country programme for 2018 – 2022 to be successful. Similarly, he stressed the interest of the Moldovan authorities to cooperate effectively with UNICEF for the realization of projects of common interest, including in the Transnistrian region of Moldova.
At her turn, Desiree Jongsma assured that the UNICEF Country team would support the Government of Moldova's child protection agenda, as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Development Objectives relevant to the issue.
